Paris

Let's start our journey from Paris, the capital city of France located on the Seine River in the northern part of the country. The location of this region is in heart of the Île-de-France. Provence

The aroma becomes even more enticing when cooked, and it’s too hard for anyone to resist. After we explore the entire France by getting to know 11 exquisite regional cuisines, now it’s time for me to share with you a recipe like what we always do. This time, we picked out 1 menu from 11 French dishes so that you can simply learn how to cook step by step. Our selection is “Boeuf Bourguignon”, a delightful dish from Bretagne. We’re going to cook by simmering beef scrag together with vegetables such as onions, potatoes, and carrots in red wine and spices. Ingredients

1.Beef on the bone 1 kg.
2.Tomato paste 2 tbsp.
3.My Choice Smoked Bacon 180 g.
4.Salt 1 cup
5.Ground black pepper 1 cup
6.My Choice peeled garlic 3 cloves
7.My Choice peeled shallots 10 pc.
8.Burgundy red wine 700 ml.
9.Bouquet garni 1 pc. (rosemary, thyme, sage)
10.Red onion
11.Cloves 3 pc.
12.Bay leaves
13.Beef broth 700 ml.
14.Unsalted butter 30-60 g.
15.Carrots 8-10 pc.
16.Potatoes 8-10 pc.
17.Champignon mushrooms 250 g.
18.Favory corn flour 3 tsp.
19.My Choice mineral water 700 ml.
20.My Choice 100% refined rice bran oil 2 cups

Instructions

Heat a pan of vegetable oil. Then, throw in diced beef and fry until lightly cooked. Add tomato paste and continue to fry to make the sauce absorb into the meat. 

Add half of My Choice smoked bacon to the pan. Season with salt and ground black pepper. Stir to mix well. 

Add My Choice peeled garlic and shallots, followed by red wine. Stir until well-combined and bring it to a boil. After that, transfer the beef soup mixture to another pot and put it over low heat.

Put beef bones into the pot. Enhance the fragrance with bouquet garni, followed by red onions, cloves, bay leaves and a small amount of beef broth. Cover with a lid and allow it to stew for approximately 1 hour or until the beef is properly cooked. 

Meanwhile, prepare vegetables for the dish. Start with placing a pan over medium heat. Add unsalted butter. Once melted, add carrots and potatoes and enhance the flavor with salt and black pepper. Stir to mix well before adding a small amount of beef broth. Cover with the lid to let them cook. Remove the lid, turn off the heat and transfer the vegetables to a plate.

Place a pan of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add champignon mushrooms and the remaining My Choice smoked bacon. Fry until the bacon starts to cook. Then, pour Favory corn flour into the pan, add a little bit of water and season with salt and black pepper. Stir to mix well. 

Once the beef stew is cooked for an hour, transfer it to the pan of mushrooms and bacon, followed by the seasoned vegetables. Cover with the lid and continue to stew for 5 more minutes. Then, remove the lid and turn off the heat. Dish up Boeuf Bourguignon for serving the delicious taste of France.
